For a Personal Shopping Experience, Say Yes to CAbi

In 1977, Carol Anderson and Jan Janura combined their resources, came up with $800.00 and started a fashion design line in a garage in Burbank, California. In May of that year they received their first order from Nordstrom’s and began to sell their fashions in high-end retail stores all across the country.

I became familiar with Carol Anderson when I worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a busy Emergency Room. As part of an ER Physician’s Group, I needed clothing that looked professional. And yet, it had to be durable and comfortable enough to be worn under my lab coat throughout my shift. With quality fabrics, great fit and a do-able price, Carol Anderson fashions provided what I needed.

In 2001, Carol Anderson, with a little help from some friends, created CAbi, a direct sales company offering exclusive clothing sold by Consultants in a private, convenient home setting. By that time, I had changed jobs, was back in scrubs and was totally unaware.

Last month, I received an invitation to a CAbi party and when I realized that CAbi stood for Carol Anderson by invitation, I made sure that I was able to go. It was hosted by my sister-in-law, Shawna. Shannon was our personal consultant. We ate, we laughed and we tried on clothes.

By the end of the session, I had bought the perfect white blouse that I needed to go with a black skirt and black/white sweater that I already owned. With its soft t-shirt material and shiny white cuffs and collar; it was the Carol Anderson that I had remembered. I also got a little red jacket (with that perfect Carol Anderson fit) and a cozy, comfortable purple shirt and sweater to wear with jeans. There were so many items, from the little flapper style party dress to the black flared coat that I would love to own, but I got what I needed and I couldn’t be happier with what I had brought home.

I’m glad I said “yes” to CAbi this fall and if invited, I will say “yes’ again in spring. I like that I was able to support Shannon’s business and I was happy to help my sister-in-law receive a reduced rate on her purchases as the host of the party. Supporting other women is important to me.

If  CAbi sounds like something that you might be interested in too, check out Shannon’s link to the website and she can arrange a party for you.
